A graduate of Kent State University, Brashear now lives in the southeast United States , with his wife and three children.
His short plays include The Airport Series: Plain View, The Perfect Interview, and The Old Apartment.
His poetry includes the multimedia flash-animation That Which is Not and his short stories include The Man Watching.
Currently, he is working on numerous projects in various stages of development.
Brashear has appeared in several local theatrical shows with NarroWay Productions including 20 Years Ago, AD, and The Deliverer and has appeared in two television commercials.
